Long Post…

So to celebrate my 43rd Journey Around the Sun, I decided to book a Birthday Photo Shoot on My EarthStrong.

Age 40, 41, & 42 taught me some major life lessons, the Growth and Healing that I’ve had during those seasons has been immense. I am grateful to those who shared those spaces with me and who are still my biggest supporters (y’all know who you are) because your presence has made a huge impact in my life.

Let’s talk about the vision…if you didn’t know by now I’m a Proud Jamaican Woman. Yeah, yeah… I wasn’t born and raised there but some of unnu woulda neva kno dat! That’s how much I Represent! Yaadie 4 Lyfe!

I Love My Cultural Roots, and have always enjoyed learning about Caribbean & African American History. It has definitely, shaped me into the person I am today.

So, I decided that this Photo Shoot should embody and represent Who I Am. I wanted to showcase the Bright, Bold, Beautiful and Colorful Spirit of Caribbean & African People. I also wanted to pay tribute to My African Roots through the incorporation of Kente Cloth which symbolizes African Unity and Pride. You may also notice a few adinkra symbols on my jewelry, beaded accessories, crystals, stones, and hair adornments. Yeah, I went deep y’all!! Everything to me has to have meaning and purpose. After all, I Am My Ancestors Dream.

Sending a special Thank You to Rashad and Kierra for executing my vision. The photos are beyond my wildest imagination. The drive, talent, precision, creativity, and professionalism that I experienced from them was Top Tier! You both are amazingly gifted, Keep Shinin’!!!

I must say, I was instantly mesmerized with this Carnival Costume designed by @wiredtings the moment I saw it! It’s a true embodiment of the theme Emerald Dreams paired with my Jamaican spirit giving the perfect combination. Special thanks to @greenroomcreativestudio for bringing my photoshoot vision to life and creating a dope space to capture this epic moment and unforgettable experience as a KBC Bouncette & Masquerader. There’s nothing quite like being ON DE ROAD!

The colors, the costumes, the music, the movement, the freedom, the energy… surrounded by Caribbean people celebrating our culture unapologetically!

Nuff love to everyone I held space with, shared a dance with, crossed paths with, and caught a vibe with along the way. These are the moments that make Carnival more than just a celebration. It’s a feeling, a connection, a piece of home. 🫶🏾

OUTSIDE at CITRUS! 🍊

From the music to the beautiful people, vibrant colors and pure Caribbean vibes CITRUS was an entire experience!

Food, fashion, dancing, whining, incredible vibrant décor and backdrops, Voice’s electrifying performance and the beautiful display of inclusivity brought nonstop vibes from start to finish. There was something about the energy that just pulled you in … I couldn’t help but smile, move and soak up every moment.

Sun Out. Soca Loud. Vibes UP! ☀️🎶🔥

I came ready for a good time, but CITRUS gave me a whole feeling! Joy, freedom, culture and connection, all in one place.

Jamaica’s Emancipation & 64th Independence celebration came alive in Orlando with the best of 90s & 2000s Dancehall and Reggae. This was my first experience at @pepperseeddayparty, and it definitely did not disappoint! The dance floor stayed packed, and everybody came ready to whine, dance, and represent Jamaican culture proper. Pure shellings, high energy, and nonstop vibes from start to finish! 💃🏾🇯🇲🎶

Follow me as I attend Blooming in Black, the 6th Annual Black Arts Showcase presented by @greenbooktb in collaboration with @thestudioat620.

The evening was filled with beautiful artistry, inspiring stories, and meaningful connections. A true celebration of creativity, culture, growth, and Black excellence.
