Super duper excited to announce that the first episode of the Lost in Transit podcast is ready y’all.

This project means a whole lot to me because as a PR professional, telling stories is my forte but helping people tell their stories, I have just discovered is a beauty that needs to be experienced and I am so glad to have the opportunity to do this with the guys at @japajantistv.

As an immigrant in the UK, I have had my fair share of the gbasgbos and the many ‘unfortunatelys’. I had one too many last year that I literally lost my mind. I may shy away from calling it the D word but for weeks, I was numb to life and living. It was as a case of dark clouds but no rain nor rainbow. I can go on and on but this is not about me.

It’s about the millions of migrants, especially the ones from Nigeria and Africa who are daily adjusting to the new reality. It’s about the strong men and women who dared to forge ahead despite the many ‘unfamiliars’.

It’s about the young Tade, lost and alone in Paris, Amanda who though in the city of bright light, New York, feels dark and misses home daily, Safiya, thriving at a Tech start up in Germany and making friends along the way. It’s about the many people who are struggling to fit in and the ones who have fit just right in. It’s about everyone who has a story and wants to tell.

It’s about You and I.

On every episode, starting from the first, I will bring young, vibrant Nigerians and Africans in the diaspora and discuss their realities as immigrants. No holds barred, the truth as it is, in its purest and ugliest (or beautiful) form.

Why this you ask? The aim is to converse, to share. The aim is to connect over shared realities. The aim is to ThriveTogether!
