For the most part of my growing up, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti was a concept. One we dared not talk about, nor romanticize.

Years and plenty research after, I have come to understand, to appreciate in fact, the rarity of his craft, the truth in his message and the rawness with which he passed it.

As an artist, Fela sits on top of the list of my biggest inspiration and it was an absolute delight to spend my afternoon in far away Hull, discussing him with likeninds @loladenwanze @sobayoabolorea @gnationofficial at the 2025 Felabration put together by @thegidivibes. by @unclelamide
