‘She carries the grid’
P.O.P, plastic mesh, cloth and acrylic on canvas
75x75 cm
For the past few months, I’ve been experimenting with plaster of Paris, cloth, color application, and plastic mesh, materials that challenge and stretch the language I’ve built over time. This exploration is not a departure from my artistic roots, but an expansion. My work has always been grounded in texture, depth, and storytelling, and these new elements allow me to articulate emotion in ways that feel both unfamiliar and essential.
The plastic mesh particularly becomes skin, a synthetic veil through which womanhood is seen, shaped, and strained. It holds form while letting everything pass through, symbolizing a body made visible yet always perforated by expectation, labor, and silence. It mirrors the tension women often live within: exposed yet confined, resilient yet reduced. This is about curiosity, discomfort, and the radical potential of reinvention through form.
