Puis la Semaine de l’art organisée par le #CPGA (Le Comité Professionnel des Galeries d’Art) qui démarre le 17 octobre jusqu’au 24 octobre.
En parallèle, les foires s’enchaînent, dont #akaa_fairdu 23 au 25 octobre au Carreau du Temple, à laquelle la galerie participe.

The gallery is delighted to present the exhibition
“Pocket size paintings, Materials put to the test of the small format, an intensity revealed”

Featuring artists:
Sheila Fuseini, Armin Kane, Seyni Awa Camara , Soly Cissé, Paterne Dokou.

The quartierartdrouot, (QAD) kicks off the season from 1 October until October 16.
Then the Art Week organised by the Professional Committee of Art Galleries / Comité Professionel des Galeries d’Art (CPGA) begins on October 17th until October 24 th.
In parallel, the fairs take place, including akaa_fair from 23 to 25 October at the Carreau du Temple, where the gallery is participating.
Join us on the first of October for the opening.

We look forward to welcoming you to discover these works in which the small format concentrates the full power of the materials and reveals a rare intensity.

Harmony in differences: A journey of identity, acceptance, collaboration, and unification.

For a while now, not only has the thought of unity occurred to me, it has also been displayed and reverberated in various ways in my environment; in the African environment.
This has led me to contemplate the notion of 'unity in diversity', which in turn, has led to thoughts on how the success of this notion on a larger scale, depends on our choices as individuals. If we can understand our own inherent, internal diversity and multifacetedness and use that as leverage, this awareness and insight can be applied to the fostering of a potent collective consciousness.

In this new body of work, for the first time, I experiment with the combination or unification, if you may, acrylic painting and leather collage on canvas.

COLOUR to me is more than visual.
It speaks!
It is no surprise to me that I find such strong resonance with the works of Artists such as Wassily Kandinsky, Mark Rothko and the work of Carl G. Jung.
There is a spiritual essence to it.."it influences the Soul".
It is interesting to observe myself as an artist, being continually drawn to certain colours; colours I wouldn't have necessarily called my favourites in the past, but for some reason(s), my work seems incomplete without a shade of any these colours...even if just a dot of it.

It turns out my love for orange and yellow (and their derivatives) is deeply connected to the African locust bean plant! From its neutral bark, lovely green leaves, beautiful inflorescense, rich yellow fruit and nurturing browns of the matte (brown) pods and glossy seeds!...It is more than just a fruit tree to me but that is another conversation.🙂

So, naturally, when I set eyes on these natural pigments in a market in Marrakech, everything else on the shopping list became secondary, budgeted for or not!😁 😆
This has led me to some introspection.
I am also exploring the spirituality, psychology and "neuroaesthetics" of colour.

Also, I made some pigment sticks...I will be using this in my painting.💃
