Now I have a diagnosis, a treatment plan, and a community that gets it.
Too many—especially Black women—are misdiagnosed or dismissed.

I went all of high school without being diagnosed and was written off as lazy. l wrote my short film Lucid to cope before I found out I had narcolepsy. Thank you for sharing your story and being such an inspiration!

When I was recently diagnosed with IH, I thought about others not getting diagnosed. They say it’s easier to get a diagnosis when you are white, I’m white and I’ve told countless doctors of my symptoms for over 40 years. Someone should’ve been able to connect the dots! I’m not lazy or ditzy and I’ve always put my 💯 into everything I do. We got this! ❤️
