It’s ‘Aphex day’ (Avril 14th) so I figured it’s a good time to do a bumper post on Disco Pogo’s tribute book to Aphex Twin!

It’s crammed with great photos and articles - from classic Jockey Slut era features to new interviews with the likes of OG logo designer Paul @number3__ and fellow RDJ nuts Mark @the_lanner_chronicle and Jonny @aphextwinisdadv2.

I also chipped in with a bunch of photos of my AFX record/gubbins collection. The main photo (first slide) was a ballache to set up but after 25 years of buying these records it was actually pretty gratifying to pull them off the shelves and document them together for something worthwhile.

I also did a Q&A, but due to my waffling, it was whittled down to fit the printed book and a number of photos had to be cropped, moved or left out. Hopefully enough water has passed under the bridge since its release, so I’ve uploaded the unabridged (waffly) version to my own site for posterity. Link in bio 🔗

Thanks to Paul, Johnno, Jim, Mark etc. at Disco Pogo for letting me be involved with such a mega project. The book’s a beaut.

Finally, massive credit where credit is due: Out to @strictlykev, Nick Williams (@medafuryrecords) (aka ‘Aphex’s twin’ 🙃) and Alex Ives (@_specimens_) who have sourced a number of rare AFX records for me down the years. As my nod to you all in the Q&A was trimmed from the book itself, I wanted to make sure you all got a shout out, even if it’s just on my puny website 🙏
