This past weekend, I was blessed with the amazing opportunity to travel to Orlando with my housing program, Rattler Rise, for an impactful community service trip focused on tackling food security.

Day 1 – We partnered with @keeporlandobeautiful at George A. Barker, Jr. Park, picking up trash and cleaning waste from the lake to help keep Orlando beautiful. Later that day, we volunteered at @feedhopenow (Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida) and helped package 10 pallets of food — enough to provide over 12,000 meals to families in need.

Day 2 – We visited McQuigg Farm and Community Garden in the Parramore community, where we helped maintain the garden, learned about sustainable farming, and even got to check out the bee apiary!

So thankful for the opportunity to give back and grow alongside a few of my SISTUHS and my fellow Rattlers.
