Comparison Post!
The two 𝘯𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘭 Satchmo variants...
#82141 (2010)
••◇••
I wasn't really expecting to make this post, but when life gives you lemons, you make lemonade!
I bought a lot of old, beautifully preserved Schleich figurines on eBay, which included these two! Little did I know that I would get both paint variants of Satchmo, of which I was previously unaware of!
Both of these figures were produced in Germany🇩🇪, despite differences in the paint. The most prominent distinction between the two is how the hooves were painted! To be certain of my claims, I also used plenty of reference images besides my available physical figurines- mainly from eBay listings, former retail websites, and other social media users' uploads from various platforms.
For simplicity's sake, going forward we will call the one pictured on the Left, A; & the one on the Right, B.
••◇••
𝔸: This variant has 'overspray' of white on its back hooves. On the inside of the left hind leg, is the mold number '1•' The color and sheen across the coat is duller than on B.

𝔹: This variant does *not* have an overspray of white on the back hooves. Instead, it has a solid layer of tan paint with a very clear border at the coronet. It also has a much warmer, richer brown to the base than on A. On the inside of the hind leg is the mold number '2•'
••◇••
BOTH variants are available as signed figurines by Isabell Werth. Due to lack of available online images and the general rarity of the signed figures, I can't say for certain if one variant or the other exclusively has the silver or gold signature. If you have one of these models, go ahead and send a picture of it to me if you'd like!

How to tell a genuine Satchmo from a repaint-
The color of the plastic on all Satchmo figures is medium-to-dark brown, and is generally unpainted/exposed on a majority of the body. The plastic is shiny, exactly like that of other models produced at the time. The eyes and nostrils have a glossy varnish that does not extend over the eyelids or onto the muzzle. The hooves are not varnished, unlike how many artists do with repaints.
