What a fun little weekend getaway with my parents and my Babo (grandmother). So cool to see my brother too, even if it was for less than 24 hours! Didn’t realize how much I needed a little break from my crazy schedule I’ve had throughout the last year while going to nursing school full time and working 40+ hours a week. So thankful I got to have this time with them! Happy Easter 🐣

In general it’s hard having to make do in an environment which is the complete opposite from you. P.s. I’m not judging “normies” and there’s nothing wrong with being one. If anything, there’s something wrong with ME… I’m just tired of pretending there’s not to seem appealing to you.
My beautiful mom would’ve turned 80 years old today. It’s been just over 2 years since she left her body. I miss her (and my dad) so much. Hug your people tight and love on one another. I was going to add the song by Queen, ‘You’re my best friend’ to this post, but I didn’t want it to omit the audio of her that you can hear in the one video I included. She often sang songs to me, and we often sang together, off-key, usually fighting back tears. I always want to remember her signing that Queen song to me, with me. 🥹 Boy oh boy did she love singing along with Freddie Mercury. That reminds me of one Thanksgiving, many years ago, after I’d moved out of our family home, when I brought some friends and a boyfriend home for dinner, and once everyone had taken a seat at the table, she took out a little tape player boom box and played ‘teach your children well’ by Crosby Stills, Nash and Young, and got down on the floor next to my chair on her knees, and sang loudly while holding my hands, staring into my eyes. I BAWLED my eyes out at the table. 😭At the time I was mad that she did that, because she knew I would cry and ruin my makeup. Oh how I’d love to have her sing to me now! 💔 Speaking of my mom and music, one music-centric gift that my mom and dad gave Ian- the gift of piano lessons- has been the gift that keeps on giving. They would be SO PROUD of him and so overjoyed to hear him play. He plays for hours a day, usually from my dad’s old music books, often serenading me to sleep. I am so fortunate. 🎵🎹🎼
