Watching movies as a kid got JJ’88 interested in storytelling. He would watch VHS tapes with his dad and loved seeing how different artists could bring him into their stories. But when he was only 15, JJ’88 was sentenced to 40 years to life in prison.
Now, he’s harnessing the power of storytelling to help bring more understanding between system-impacted individuals and those deemed “free.” We are proud to call JJ’88 a 2024 Represent Justice Ambassador and elevate his storytelling.
