To celebrate National Rescue Dog Day, we are highlighting this absolutely perfect angel, Punky! She has been waiting for her forever home for over THREE YEARS! Let’s make this National Rescue Dog Day her last one without a family!
Punky was rescued in the Los Angeles area from a life where she had been misused for profit by a breeder, forced to have litter after litter. And when they were done with her? They planned to dump her at the shelter, like trash.
Thankfully, the @lange_foundation stepped in to rescue her and give her the medical care she needed
Now, three years later, Punky is happy, healthy… and still waiting patiently for someone to choose her. This girl is ALL heart. She is the epitome of resilience, of joy, of unconditional love.
Punky doesn’t act her age (9) — in fact, she’s the first to run up and show off her tricks, sit politely, and shake your hand. She adores people, especially children, and she brings joy wherever she goes. Every time @lange_foundation visits a school or do an event, Punky is the one they bring.
She’s a snuggler, a kisser, a sweetheart who wants nothing more than to curl up beside you and love you with her whole heart. After everything she’s been through, Punky still chooses love.
National Rescue Dog Day is day meant to honor dogs just like Punky. It’s a day to raise awareness for dogs in shelters who are still waiting for their forever home. We can’t think of a more powerful way to celebrate than by finally getting this incredible girl adopted.
