as I go into this summer I can’t help but be amazed by the beauty surrounding us. the Lord is teaching me rest in a new way. A way that I don’t necessarily agree with. But isn’t that the beautiful thing? He will slow us down so that we can recognize his work all the more. at first glance this flower arch was pretty. At second glance it was an intricate yet simple display of our creator’s masterpiece. as I sat there and took it in I felt peace wash over me. now I crave the peace that I receive through recognizing creation. a simple prayer like “lord thank you for this reminder of love” brings a new gratitude to my heart that invites waves peace and rest. thank you Jesus 🩷

❀༉ 𝘍𝘳𝘦𝘥𝘥𝘪𝘦 & 𝘑𝘪𝘮 • 𝘑𝘢𝘱𝘢𝘯, 1986 🇯🇵

✧In autumn 1986, Freddie visited Japan with Jim Hutton and Joe Fanelli. Jim’s recollections give us some wonderful glimpses of their holiday, exploring gardens, taking photographs, and getting ready for an evening out.

✧Misa arranged a trip by bullet train to Kyoto, where they visited the gardens of the Golden Pavilion. Jim remembered them spending hours examining the flowers and shrubs. Freddie’s favourite azaleas weren’t in bloom, but the carefully shaped trees fascinated him, and he was mesmerised by the golden carp in the koi pool.

✧Freddie enthusiastically photographed everything in sight, although mastering the camera took a little practice. According to Jim, the first few rolls they had developed were wildly out of focus. Once Freddie got the hang of it, they couldn’t stop him taking pictures by the dozen. 📷♡

✧At the Tokyo boutique Beverly Hills, Freddie spent more than two hours choosing silk ties, including white ones costing over £75 each. Jim recalled that Freddie had never owned a tie before, then bought around a hundred! But he couldn’t knot them, so whenever he wanted to wear one, he’d call out, “Jim! Help me, will you?”

✧Getting dressed for dinner with Misa and a friend at a rooftop restaurant required more ingenuity. Freddie wanted to wear a new shirt that was badly creased, so Jim and Joe improvised with a metal hot plate used to keep snacks warm. Turning it upside down, they managed to press his shirt!

“Clever bitch, aren’t you?” said Freddie.
“I have my uses!” Jim replied. 🤭

✧The holiday also included a visit to a Japanese production of Cats, with Freddie photographed alongside members of the cast, another lovely moment from their time in Japan.

One of these hooks got 14 million views, and the other only got 40,000.

They’re both my videos, posted on the same channel, using the same strategy.

But one did 350x better than the other.

The main difference…comes down to one thing…Triple Hook Alignment.

Every video technically has 3 hooks:

When all 3 of those hooks are aligned, the viewer’s understanding goes way up and the retention metrics are much higher.

But when the 3 hooks don’t align, the viewer gets confused and usually scrolls away.

It sounds simple but hook alignment is a major issue in most of the bad videos I review.

Now the best way to improve at your hook alignment is to run the Sound Off and Eyes Closed tests.

Watch the video without sound first and guess what the video is about based on what you see in the visual and text hook.

Then, listen back to the video with your eyes closed and see if what you say matches up.

If it’s misaligned, you’ve got a hook alignment problem that you need to fix before you post.
