10•9•26 WE ARE ENGAGED!!! 🤍

Praise the Lord for His grace and blessings because I get to marry my best friend!!

For the last 2.5 years, our prayer has been to seek Jesus first and trust Him with everything else. And He has done immeasurably more than we could have ever asked or imagined.

“Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.” Ephesians 3:20-21

And as if the day couldn’t get any sweeter, the rain stopped right as Joel proposed, and moments later, we watched the Lord paint the most beautiful sunset across the sky. The heavens really do declare His glory (Psalm 19:1)!!

You know those things you do for the last time without realizing it is the last time?

Then one day you look back and think, wow. That is a memory now.

This summer felt full of little moments like that. A lot of reflection, a lot of new joys, and a growing awareness that life is changing in really sweet ways.

As I walk into my senior year of college, there is so much unknown ahead. But I think that is part of what makes the Lord feel so near. When I cannot see exactly where I am going, I’ve learned to pay closer attention to the One leading me.

So here I am. Grateful for the memories behind me, excited about what is right in front of me, and trusting the Lord with everything I cannot see yet.

hiiii! I deleted socials for a while and a lot of life happened so here is a glimpse!!

What a joy it has been to love on my sister in my home away from home, and to love the friends beside her too.

Some of the truest blessings have come through people. The kind of people who bring a smile to your face just by thinking of them, because gratitude rises before words do.

This semester we have celebrated, we have cried, we have danced, we have traveled, and we have learned so much.

Through it all, I am learning that each person is a poiema, a beautiful masterpiece being created by the wonderful Creator.

Thank You Jesus for the moments that made me desperate for You, and for the overwhelming joy You so freely give.

He is kind, humble, endlessly thoughtful, and such an advocate for the people around him.

Somehow I convinced Elena and Haley to hike 76mi across France, Italy and Switzerland with me and WOW. this is a trip that I will be talking about for years and years. thank you Jesus for amazingly pretty views and locals with beautiful hearts 🌄🥾🥐 by @alyssajblackson

oh hey! I forgot I went to Canada so here is a little recap!

It was one of those places where you take a photo on your phone and the photo only captures about 10% of the beauty. So just imagine these mountains but 100x prettier (you should have no words to explain the beauty)

Also it was my sweet grandparents 50th wedding anniversary. They’ve shown us that love is built day by day, not just in the big moments, but in the ordinary ones. Our family is here today as a testament to their faithfulness to the Lord and to each other. So I’m simply overflowing with gratitude 💙💙 taken in Banff National Park by @alyssajblackson

My favorite song sings “look at the flowers in all of their beauty. I don’t have to wonder, you (God) know what you’re doing”

And I can’t help but know that the Lord knows what he is doing. And he sent Joel to remind me of that ☺️

as I go into this summer I can’t help but be amazed by the beauty surrounding us. the Lord is teaching me rest in a new way. A way that I don’t necessarily agree with. But isn’t that the beautiful thing? He will slow us down so that we can recognize his work all the more. at first glance this flower arch was pretty. At second glance it was an intricate yet simple display of our creator’s masterpiece. as I sat there and took it in I felt peace wash over me. now I crave the peace that I receive through recognizing creation. a simple prayer like “lord thank you for this reminder of love” brings a new gratitude to my heart that invites waves peace and rest. thank you Jesus 🩷 by @alyssajblackson
