Grateful for a strong showing from @nynurses at CB12s May General Meeting. I stand with you and strongly condemn New York-Presbyterian's plan to layoff 2% of its workforce, including 70 NYSNA nurses across the system.
The decision comes in the wake of a $750M settlement of sexual abuse claims from patients of a former gynecologist.
Our hard working nurses, the backbone of our healthcare system, should not be made to suffer as a consequence of another person's bad choices.
I look forward to working with our nurses and the CB12 health and environment committee on a path forward.
