Streets across multiple Indian cities including Delhi, Mumbai and Bengaluru witnessed demonstrations as protesters carrying the national flag gathered for the Cockroach Janta Party’s (CJP) nationwide ‘Lehra Do Tiranga’ campaign. From Delhi’s Connaught Place to Mumbai’s Azad Maidan and Bengaluru’s Town Hall, demonstrators turned out despite police restrictions, heavy security and preventive detentions. Protesters had begun assembling at various locations during the afternoon, with demonstrations continuing into the evening.

In Delhi, hundreds of protesters gathered around Connaught Place, Mandi House and nearby roads, waving the Tricolour and raising slogans. Reuters reported that nearly 500 demonstrators managed to assemble in different groups despite barricades and the closure of Central Park. Police detained CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke, student activist Neha Bora and several others, citing preventive measures and restrictions under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita.

Mumbai witnessed demonstrations at Azad Maidan, where authorities had granted permission for the gathering and deployed around 500 police personnel. In Bengaluru, protesters participated in a symbolic Tiranga march from Town Hall towards the Quit India Memorial under strict police conditions. Authorities permitted the limited march but prohibited political slogans, placards and protest activities along the route.

The nationwide mobilisation follows the arrests of CJP members Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka and ongoing protests demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged irregularities in electoral roll revisions. The Election Commission has denied allegations of political bias, while the BJP has accused opposition groups of undermining confidence in the electoral process.

We are fighting a spiritual battle. If the enemy cannot stop you, he will try to distract you, discourage you, and wear you down. Kill, steal and destroy. But we will not lose heart for our God is greater! Nothing is wasted in His hands. We will not be overcome by discouragement or pulled away from the calling He has placed on this ministry. Instead, we will press forward, standing firm in faith and trusting in His promises. We will forge onward in the power and strength of His might, not our own, knowing that the One who is in us is greater than the one who is in the world (1 John 4:4). Even in seasons of loss, we can rejoice because our hope is anchored in Jesus Christ. Circumstances may change, challenges may come, and the road ahead may not always be clear, but God is faithful, His Word is true, and His promises never fail! We ask you all to please keep us continually lifted up in the mighty name of Jesus Christ!
