Let me be very clear: this is in no way, shape, or form a personal attack on anyone who enjoys these tropes or narrative devices. It’s just that I PERSONALLY am tired of seeing them repeat in every other fantasy book. I remember back in the day when people were RAGING about the ending of Divergent, while I was in the group that actually quite enjoyed it. It was unique! It was unexpected, and I like to be caught off guard. I feel like this is also why some books end up blending together for me after a year or two, and I really wish that wasn’t the case. Anyway, do you share the feeling? What’s something you’re tired of seeing in fantasy books? 🏷️ fantasy tropes | tropes I’m tired of | overused fantasy tropes | fantasy tropes I don’t like | book pet peeves | reading pet peeves | unpopular book opinions | fantasy book opinions | predictable fantasy | tropes in books | fantasy reading | bookstagram | fantasy bookstagram
