I made a short film!

For the 1st time ever, I’m nervous about sharing my work with others, it’s a weird sensation 😂.

I’ve never been one to care about other people’s opinions, which is weird since I’m in an industry where other folks opinions hold a substantial amount of weight.

Last year I wrote a script for a short film with hope that it would get made and told but it never did, so I figured, fuck it, I’ll make it myself..; In pursuing a career in TV & Film, I spent a lot of my young adult life living in Backrooms. I can confidently say I know a great part of Joburg because of this.

One thing I realised about all of us living in these Backrooms, coming from different homes, situations & provinces, was that even though we all smiled, laughed and were cordial with one another, behind closed doors, we all had different stories and struggles but neither one of us had the heart to ask the other about any of it.

Realising this made me ask myself “what if,” once upon a time I may have had a neighbour who was going through something like this and we all never knew it; that’s why I wrote this film…

Because all stories deserve to be told.
