My first and only editorial shoot to date… and this look will always hold weight.

It was the first piece I created for the collection—titled The James Joint Set in honor of @badgalriri —built from instinct, intention, and a vision I had no choice but to bring to life. A sculpted strapless denim gown with a dramatic train, paired with a structural bolero and a waist bag crafted from the dress’s own hem. Nothing wasted—only transformed.

I layered in spirit as much as structure: on the back, a cut-out ankh, symbol of eternal life, placed over hand-dyed indigo shibori—merging African spirituality and Japanese technique. This was a piece that carried memory, movement, and meaning.

It may have closed the collection, but for me—it marked a beginning.
