If you have some mason jars to spare and want to convert your own into a garden, then this one thing will be a true game-changer for you.

You’ll want to have something to protect your roots from the sun. If the light + warmth + plant food come into contact with your roots, then that’s a party for some algae. And not a good party for you. More like a party crasher who drank your most expensive wine from the cabinet you keep hidden.

Algae will compete with your plant for the food, and they come in numbers! So it’s best not to take the chance and provide it some protection from the sun.

You can use anything you have, like a cloth or a sock. You’ll want to keep an eye on the water level to make sure it’s not getting too low.

You can grab a felt sleeve in the shop that has a cut-out for the water levels. Simply slip this onto any pint-sized jar, and you’re ready to grow!
