There are countless events and occurrences young boys & grown men have encountered that would absolutely place them at risk for developing PTSD.
Many of those situations are overlooked or even dismissed.
At this point, I am unsure if it is intentional or simply represents the lack of care or concern for men's mental health, especially Black men. 😌
As an advocate, I am unfiltered when I say it is greatly responsible for many of the current prison, mental illness, divorce, poverty, morbidity, mortality, & suicide rates among minority men.
Among mental health & government-based organizations, this is common knowledge. ✍️🏽

My question is, why are there limited resources expended on rehabilitation rather than punitive action? πŸ€”

And a lot of it epigenetics and traumas our family's experiences during the slave era and even as recent as the civil rights times and all the things we've had to experience. Healing and restoration is so very necessary. 🀍
