Anthony Bourdain, accidental icon, rockstar chef, food travel guy, but what made Anthony so endeering to all kinds of people all over the world was that he went beyond the food, portrayed an honest view of the locations he visited, no matter how famous or wealthy he got, he was always most comfortable speaking with the common folk on a park bench tasting the local cuisine and asking poignant questions about the culture and politics. He was relatable, flawed, shy and opinionated, was into watches and jujitsu. His death was a shock to many and hit hard for some reason, he touched many far and wide, even got to be the subject of this mural in the Sydney suburb of Erskineville, a king way away from Hell’s Kitchen in New York. RIP Tony and thanks for the great story telling and adventures.
