Here is a video showing the beautiful spot the park is located, a little history of how it came about, the ramp was built in 1989, the spot is used for skating but also for events as you can see, these locals grew up here, they cleaned the ramp, dried it when it was wet, something we all did in our local parks, we took ownership of them and not only learnt to skate, we learnt to be responsible and feel a part of something, it was our home as this place is home to these skaters. by @cesarmora.10

I was more than happy to help out in saving this skate park. @rockandrolling.tv contacted me to ask if I could spread the word and hopefully get some signatures to help save their skatepark in Spain, my home country and in particular this park located in Galicia, where my mum is from. It’s located in the city of Vigo at Playa de Samil, Samil being the beach area where the skatepark is located. You can help out by either reposting this post or their original post of this awesome video. This hits close to home for me as I remember the same thing happening to the Bondi ramp in Sydney we all loved so much, they just decided to take it down, no questions asked, no talks or votes, no new ramp, they just took it down and left a lot of skaters without a ramp. Now I see lots of parks popping up everywhere, which gives the youth somewhere to be, somewhere to burn energy and have a creative outlet to be positive and stay out of trouble. I fully support my brothers in the north of Spain and hope guys can quickly sign the petition to show what a force the skate world can be, working together to accomplish good things for each other . by @cesarmora.10

Anthony Bourdain, accidental icon, rockstar chef, food travel guy, but what made Anthony so endeering to all kinds of people all over the world was that he went beyond the food, portrayed an honest view of the locations he visited, no matter how famous or wealthy he got, he was always most comfortable speaking with the common folk on a park bench tasting the local cuisine and asking poignant questions about the culture and politics. He was relatable, flawed, shy and opinionated, was into watches and jujitsu. His death was a shock to many and hit hard for some reason, he touched many far and wide, even got to be the subject of this mural in the Sydney suburb of Erskineville, a king way away from Hell’s Kitchen in New York. RIP Tony and thanks for the great story telling and adventures. by @cesarmora.10

Who is Leo? Brother of Lucas, son of Natasha, a mum that deserves a medal for the lengths she goes to for her boys. I first met them during Covid when I got a message from Darren in the UK asking if I could help these two boys who just started skating and lived in my area, I said sure , how bad could they be? Ooofff if I survived the first session with these two then I knew we would be friends for life😂, let’s just say things got better with each session and they quickly learnt the rules and etiquette of navigating a skate park, being safe, learning lines and then slowly implementing some tricks. They were good kids, but it wasn’t easy, skating can be dangerous, but eventually they trusted in me enough to listen half the time, I’ve seen them grow and help others, be kind n helpful to other learner skaters, always encouraging others and enjoying themselves in the process, their skating has come along way purely because of their determination and persistence, with my help, the airborne academy , and others they have learnt trick after trick, even competing on street courses and putting lines together. I never thought I’d see the day. I’m proud of them bith. What I didn’t know until later was that Leo spent a lot of time in hospital as a kid, and never really got to do any sport or challenge himself in any way, so it makes sense to me now when I look back why he latched on so hard to skating and why he loves it so much, not a natural by any means, but I can honestly say I’ve met few skaters young or old that have his courage, he’s a fighter, and even though he would be shivering in fear, literally, he would stand on top of an obstacle, and do it, sometimes before his older brother Lucas. I called him Leo the Lion, he wouldn’t give up, he would stack and get back up, ask me where he went wrong , try again another way until he succeeded, he got my respect early on and I appreciate the trust he had in me when I told him he could do it, he proved me right. So ,,, happy bday to you young man, keep enjoying ur skating and being a good respectful young man, I’m proud of you Leo. by @cesarmora.10

Yesterday afternoon skaters of all ages gathered at greenhills skatepark to celebrate the birthday of a special young man, Leo turned 11, and along with his brother Lucas and a host of other skaters and bike riders they all had a ball riding around , competing for big prizes in a high air contest and to top off the night a beat trick contest. A few slams, a few sick tricks and lots of laughs. I don’t know the names of everyone that turned up so feel free to add tags and names in the comment section. by @cesarmora.10
