To kick off #MandelaMonth @stephaniebe and @yonaka_theledi visited Woodrock Animal Rescue.

The #5MidMorning team got to hang out with the team who introduced us to the amazing animal rescue work that they do. We got to bath Duke the dog, Arlo the dog took Stephanie for a walk and Yonaka hung out with Maggie the bulldog. All while Ferdinand the bull watched over us.

If you are looking to adopt a dog or cat, check out Woodrock Animal Rescue for your forever bestie.

My experience with Woodrock Animal Rescue was deeply disappointing. After being referred by their sister cattery, I visited on 31 March 2026 to adopt a kitten, only to be told I had to adopt two. I agreed, completed all forms, and even made home renovations to meet their requirements. When I returned on 5 April with my autistic nephew, we encountered an elderly gentleman who behaved aggressively toward my 66‑year‑old mother and made intimidating comments toward both her and my nephew. We chose not to escalate, hoping it was an isolated incident. The next day, my application was declined with no explanation and no acknowledgement of the costs I had already incurred. I’m sharing this to create awareness for future adopters — transparency and respectful communication are essential, especially for families trying to give animals a loving home.My experience with Woodrock Animal Rescue was deeply disappointing. I recommend going to @woodrockanimalrescuesa with the family this Mandela Month and beyond, to make a real difference. Whether it's taking these fur babies for walkies or taking them home, it's cuteness and cuddles all around. ❤️❤️❤️😍😍
