Two weeks of laughter, adventures and love celebrating Jack’s 40th on an epic trip with friends cruising from Greece to Montenegro and Croatia. We explored ancient cities, sailed on a private catamaran, dove into blue caves, swam around remote islands and danced all night long! Cheers to an incredible celebration and many more years of adventures! I love you! 🌊

On Monday, Homeland Security officers raided the Washington, DC, home of US Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) in an investigation reportedly tied to immigration paperwork filled out by her father when she was a minor. That was, at the time, more than enough cause for alarm. Trump’s animosity toward Omar, who is Somali-American and an outspoken critic of the administration, is well-known, and the raid is an extraordinary violation of the Justice Department’s usual rule to avoid taking visible action around politically sensitive cases within 60 days of an election. But later on, we learned more about the raid from the Wall Street Journal. The Omar investigation, the Journal reported, is explicitly aimed at stripping Omar of her citizenship — and thus her ability to hold office — and deporting her. Yves Montand, Saint-Paul-de-Vence, 1960s to 1980s. Place de Gaulle, beneath the plane trees, a few metres from the Colombe d’Or. Not a stage. Not a film set. A pétanque court, and quite possibly his natural habitat. Lino Ventura and Georges Géret were among the regulars. Montand even sponsored the local children’s tournament. But before Yves Montand, there was Ivo Livi. Born in Monsummano, Tuscany, on October 13, 1921, the youngest of three. In 1923 his antifascist family left Mussolini’s Italy for Marseille. Ivo quit school early, took whatever jobs came along and found his way into music hall. The new name, so the story goes, was his mother calling him upstairs: “Ivo, monta!” Paris, 1944. Édith Piaf spotted him at the Moulin Rouge, took him under her wing and, inevitably, became his lover. The romance ended. The career did not. In 1946, Les Portes de la nuit gave him Les feuilles mortes by Prévert and Kosma. He would carry that song for the rest of his life. The world learned it as Autumn Leaves. August 1949, the Colombe d’Or. Simone Signoret, then married to someone else. Montand, in town for a show in Nice. On December 22, 1951 they wed at the village town hall, with Prévert as a witness. The marriage outlasted fame, politics and, yes, Marilyn Monroe. Simone died in 1985. Montand kept coming back to Saint-Paul. Which brings us back to the square. One of the great performers of the century, a man who could hold a room without seeming to move, treating a metal ball on dusty ground as a matter of national importance. He died in November 1991, the day after a heart attack, having just wrapped Beineix’s IP5. His character in the film dies the same way. Cinema has a cruel sense of timing. Choosing photos of Montand is always hard for me. With some Kings, an uncool picture is a purely theoretical concept. Ivo Livi was born 105 years ago today. 10 years ago today, my life changed forever. And somehow, 10 years later, I’m building something that began in the middle of the hardest season of my life. When I lost my sister to suicide, my entire world caved in. She was the outgoing one, the protective older sister, and the yin to my yang, or as she used to say, “the sun and the moon.” Without her, I felt untethered. I was timid, numb, and couldn’t picture what life looked like moving forward. When I started going to the gym, I wasn’t thinking about building muscle or changing my body. I just needed somewhere to go. Something to focus on. A reason to feel something other than sadness. The gym quickly became my sanctuary. It gave me a safe place to process grief, build trust in myself, and slowly discover who I was becoming on my own two feet. Movement saved my mind long before it ever changed my body. Over time, my relationship with fitness evolved. I learned to train with intention, build my body up instead of breaking it down, and create an 80/20 lifestyle where fitness could exist alongside a full, joyful life. For 10 years, I’ve wanted to do something in my sister’s honor. Something that would make her proud. I’ve considered so many paths, but this feels right because it connects my sister, my grief, the gym that helped me find my way through it, and the person I’ve become. As I step into coaching, I want to help women find strength, confidence, and a sense of home within themselves. I want to show them that fitness doesn’t have to be punishment or restriction. It can be a sanctuary. A place to discover what you’re capable of. A way to find your way back to yourself. 10 years later, I still carry her with me. Создаются все необходимые условия для достойной жизни населения, привлечения новых инвестиций и укрепления экономического потенциала региона. Принятые на сегодняшнем заседании документы, в частности, касались обеспечения жилыми помещениями детей-сирот и детей, оставшихся без попечения родителей, индексации социальных выплат, развития инфраструктуры, транспортной сферы и сельского хозяйства. Подчеркнул, что Глава ЧР ставит перед нами задачу добиваться конкретных результатов, которые отражаются на качестве жизни людей.
