a year agoHarry Potter. My first book in English and it took me so long to finish the first book & had to re read cause I didn’t understand 1/4 of what I read ❤️
a year agoClan of the cave bear, read it I'm 4th grade. Than read misery by Stephen King. And hobbiet than fell in love with forgotten relem books when I was in my 20s with Harry Potter. Than I picked up YA horror books in my 30s. And now I'm a avid reader of romancy.
a year agoFourth wing, Cresent City, ACOTAR, Throne of Glass and Mistborn. Started in that order. I prefer listening while working and driving but it lead to me starting to physical reading at all times now.
a year agoI was an avid reader in my teens and early 20’s, lots of sci-fi and ya fantasy stuff. But by my late 20’s I just slowed down and after the pandemic shut-down, I just found my attention span was gone. Starting The Stormlight Archive last December reignited my love for reading and I’ve spent the last 8 months just so immersed in books it’s really been very special to me.
a year agoThe first books I ever read were fairy tales. I’ve always loved the physical object of the book itself — the pages, the binding, the smell — ever since I was a little girl, around 7 or 8 years old. From that moment on, I’ve never stopped reading. I started by buying fairy tales at book markets, and as I grew up, I always looked for books suited to my age. That’s how I became a reader.
a year agoI dont ever remember a time when I wasnt a reader. My earliest memories are of reading. But there was a period of time as an adult with young kids that I hardly read for myself. I read with them all the time, but not for myself. And this might be the strawberry pop tart answer, but ACOTAR pushed me back into reading for my own enjoyment.
a year agoMy friend basically shoved Laurell K. Hamilton's Guilty Pleasures book in my hands and said, "Read it." I was hooked lol!
a year agoIt was The Shining at 13 that made me a reader. Since reading it there hasn't been a day were I don't have a book occupying my mind
a year agoI feel like I was always into reading but the first series I really invested in was Harry Potter when I was 10. Now I’m halfway through the Cosmere and absolutely loving it!
a year agoI started when I was really young. I still have my E. B. White set I read when I was 4. I fell off reading around the time I started college because there was just no time to read and I didn’t really start to get back into it until I joined my local book club back in December 2023. I picked ACOTAR up the following summer and have been devouring books this last year.
