Do you trust this government with your $1.6 BILLION?

Ottawa has committed up to that amount to buy into AI company Cohere. But when Vassy Kapelos asked Minister Evan Solomon what percentage Canadians would own, he wouldn’t disclose it. Commercial sensitivity. Sound familiar? That’s what’s they said with Volkswagen and many others.

Look at the record of federal and provincial governments backing companies with public money:

🔴 Northvolt: Quebec lost $270 million invested in the Swedish parent company. (globalnews.ca)

🔴 Lion Electric: Quebec lost approximately $140 million, according to The Canadian Press. (montreal.citynews.ca)

🔴 Recyclage Carbone Varennes: Quebec’s $117 million equity stake was lost, alongside further losses on public loans. The assets sold for just $17.5 million. (montreal.citynews.ca)

🔴 Medicago: Ottawa lost a $150 million non-refundable vaccine advance. (search.open.canada.ca)

🔴 Novavax: After Canada terminated its vaccine agreement, the company booked US$575.7 million from previously recorded payments and liabilities as revenue. It refunded US$28 million. (sec.gov)

And they get away with it? Vast? “Ok”. It’s not ok. Disclose the deal or you don’t get to use our money.

If you're running for office and there's evidence your family could be tied to the Muslim Brotherhood... You should probably be prepared to explain that.

🚨 33 COUNTRIES ARE URGING THEIR CITIZENS TO PREPARE FOR EMERGENCIES.

From Europe to North America and Asia, governments are encouraging people to keep emergency supplies at home. Some recommend 72 hours. Others suggest having enough food, water, and essentials to last a week or even two.

Here’s how the recommendations break down:

🌍 EUROPE (17)

🇦🇹 Austria — 10–14 days
🇩🇪 Germany — Up to 10 days
🇸🇪 Sweden — 1 week
🇳🇴 Norway — 1 week
🇨🇭 Switzerland — 1 week
🇪🇪 Estonia — 1 week
🇬🇧 United Kingdom — 3 days
🇫🇷 France — 72 hours
🇳🇱 Netherlands — 72 hours
🇩🇰 Denmark — 3 days
🇫🇮 Finland — 72 hours
🇱🇻 Latvia — 72 hours
🇱🇹 Lithuania — 72 hours
🇵🇱 Poland — 3 days
🇨🇿 Czechia — 72 hours
🇭🇷 Croatia — 72 hours
🇮🇪 Ireland — Stock essential supplies

🌎 AMERICAS (7)

🇨🇦 Canada — 72 hours
🇲🇽 Mexico — 72 hours
🇨🇱 Chile — 72 hours
🇨🇴 Colombia — 72 hours
🇺🇸 United States — Several days
🇧🇷 Brazil — Emergency kit
🇦🇷 Argentina — Emergency kit

🌏 ASIA (6)

🇹🇼 Taiwan — 7 days
🇯🇵 Japan — 3–7 days
🇮🇱 Israel — 3 days
🇮🇳 India — Emergency kit
🇵🇭 Philippines — Go bag
🇸🇬 Singapore — Ready bag

🌏 OCEANIA & AFRICA (3)

🇳🇿 New Zealand — 3+ days
🇿🇦 South Africa — 3 days
🇦🇺 Australia — Emergency kit

🇪🇺 The European Union has also encouraged households to be prepared to remain self-sufficient for at least 72 hours.

The threats governments are preparing for include severe weather, prolonged power outages, cyberattacks, infrastructure failures, and military conflict.

Now, emergency preparedness isn’t new. But with growing concerns over global security and the vulnerability of critical infrastructure, these recommendations are worth paying attention to.

Here’s my question: Are governments simply encouraging common-sense preparedness, or are they anticipating disruptions the public isn’t fully aware of?

What do you think?
