President Trump turned the presidential pardon into campaign theater Tuesday, signing two pardons onstage at a rally in Wasilla, Alaska, as the crowd cheered. An aide brought out the paperwork. Trump joked that the men were now โ€œas clean as a newborn babyโ€™s a**,โ€ then added, โ€œI love doing this stuff.โ€ The men, Zachary Czubak and Patrick Fleming, had pleaded guilty in 2022 to conspiring to violate the Clean Air Act by removing pollution controls from diesel vehicles. The rally was meant to boost Sen. Dan Sullivan and other Republicans ahead of the midterms. Do you think weโ€™ve become indifferent to a president using the extraordinary power of the pardon as a campaign gimmick?
โ€œThe Dream Teamโ€. Founded by Jesus โ€œBubuโ€ Hernandez, they were a crew comprised of fellas from Brooklyn & Queens who moved between the streets and nightlife in the early 2000s. They hustled everything from weed to coke and also took part in stick-ups & robberies. They eventually tried shifting to less hazardous activities and began promoting parties around Brooklyn & Queens. One weekend the squad could be found rolling deep at Nubar in Queens and the next could be seen at Rhumba in The Bronx. But as they straddled the line between nightlife and the streets, they developed beefs with a number of crews. After a rival from one group was struck by gunfire, retaliation came outside of Club Phenomenon in Woodside. There two Dream Team members were shot; one survived, but the other, a founding member named JR, was killed. From that point it was war on sight with violence erupting whenever the crews crossed paths. JRโ€™s killer was eventually arrested and sentenced to 30 years, but his death marked the beginning of the end for the Dream Team. The crew gradually drifted apart, and after founder Bubu died in a motorcycle accident in 2012, the group officially dissolved. One of the original members of The Dream Team "Rah" owns a clothing brand @trustnoone_clothing. #newyorkstreets #ridgewood #bushwick
