The Supreme Court on Saturday declared that the right to access and use the internet is a fundamental right under Articles 21 and 19(1)(a) of the Constitution, making it clear that children enjoy the same protection The bench made the observation while issuing directions to strengthen the mechanisms for detecting and removing child s*xual exploitation and abuse material (CSEAM) from social media platforms and other online services. A bench comprising Justice JB Pardiwala and Justice K Vinod Chandran observed that denying children access to the internet altogether would be as absurd as suggesting that they had no conscience worth protecting or freedom of speech worth expressing. It noted that the right to freedom of speech and expression under Article 19(1)(a) also includes the right to know and to receive and impart information and ideas. Describing the internet as a marketplace of ideas, creative expression and information, the Court said its value lay not merely in the information it contained but also in the access it gives to adults and children alike. “For many children, particularly in remote areas, it is often the only source of learning and information,” the Court observed. The Bench acknowledged that the internet, as it exists today, is far from safe for children. However, it held that keeping children away from the internet because of the failures of intermediaries to detect and remove harmful material would amount to mistaking the victim for the problem. The Court also clarified that its observations would not prevent the government from restricting children’s access to specific categories of content or services inherently harmful to them, including adult-content websites.
Ryan Fitzpatrick WENT OFF on Bo Nix, saying his play is "almost disrespectful" to the quarterback position. "Bo Nix is not playing competitively. It's almost disrespectful to the quarterback position how he's playing football." 🔶 Nix ranks dead last among 701 qualified QB seasons over the past 20 years in average pass depth through six games, averaging just 4.9 air yards per attempt. 🔶 Of 4,347 dropbacks while leading in the final 6 minutes since 2014, Nix is the only QB to run out of bounds behind the line of scrimmage. Taking micro to a new level, had to break out to 0.01g scale! These micro geckos are all Sphaerodactylidae, the family which is home to the smallest reptiles in the world! Sometimes through up close and detailed video it’s hard to understand the smallness of these animals. Hopefully this video gives a better idea to everyone that hasn’t seen them in person! Though these geckos are fast, delicate, and lightweight, they really do make amazing terrarium inhabitants. Since they are so small, it’s easy to make a home for them that gives them plenty of space in relation to their size. Generally, handling should be avoided because of their delicateness and speed. I often describe the experience of keeping them as that of a pet fish: build a beautiful home for them, and enjoy watching them interact within it! The difference is these guys are so much more intelligent and really will look back at you. It’s an unreal experience for an animal that weighs less than a feather to look you up and down. They’re by no means a good first pet reptile, or second, or third... but with a little prior reptile experience and an ability to enjoy a pet without handling, these are easy to care for and extremely rewarding animals to keep. Hopefully this video peaks some interest for those that find these creatures just as captivating as I do!
