I’ve been trying to work through some “art debt” lately. As the gap between my current workflow and painting widens, it has been frustrating to return to more fundamental methods, and feeling vulnerable stepping out of the long blender shaped shadow.

That said, this piece was feeling good. It began as a study from a photo I took on the ferry to Orkney and then just having fun with it and seeing where it would go. Had a lot of fun with this one, Hope you enjoy.
