Illustration by @rickyho_concepts for "The Dark Forest" novel. Art direction by @petrikleo Heaving absolutely binged The Dark Forest as well as the other parts, this illustrations captures the insurmountable technological differences so well! Awesome job, I'm digging it! The Dark Forest is written by Cixin Liu, an incredibly talented author from China. Highly recommended reads if you're into deep sci-fi and cosmic-scale storytelling. • #TheDarkForest #Illustragram #ConceptArt #threebodyproblem #Spaceship #DigitalArt #illustrations #ConceptArtist #ConceptDesign #VFXArtist #2dart #ArtOfTheDay #ArtDirection #SpaceOpera #ScifiIllustration #ArtistsOnInstagram #bookillustration #DigitalPainting #ArtOfVisuals #Blender #3DModeling #DailyArt #DigitalIllustration by @rickyhoconcepts
Mistborn, by Brandon Sanderson, is one of my favorite series and I always wanted to see it adapted into a film one day. I plan on creating keyframes of how I imagined this universe as a live action IP Beginning with the city of Luthadel at night #fantasyart #mistborn #mistbornmonday #brandonsanderson #digitalpainting #photoshop #blender #conceptart #director #instart #netflix #movie #environmentdesign #cityscape #kelsier #vin by @rickyhoconcepts
I still can’t believe i got the chance to illustrate The Martian Chronicles by Ray Bradbury. The book is a favorite of mine and I tried to be as accurate to Bradbury’s words as possible. I always loved how he described the Martian City as white chess pieces, such few words described so much! This is the dust jacket illustration for the special edition from @thebrokennbinding and art direction from @petrikleo by @rickyhoconcepts
This was an illustration I did for @thebrokennbinding special edition version of Dust by Hugh Howey. In the end, in an effort to avoid spoilers, we decided to use a different illustration. I still really like this image though, and I'm happy to be able to share it! Art direction by Eon van Aswegen and @petrikleo by @rickyhoconcepts
I've been studying the Asaro head, in an effort to improve my painting and portrait skills. I love it! It really breaks down the planes of the head so well. You can find some 3D models of it online, and it's really useful and fun setting up different lighting scenarios and camera angles in blender. by @rickyhoconcepts
Isn't it frustrating when raw hardened energy bursts through the street as a crystal tower and becomes intertwined with living fire? Late backer store is open for a very short time if you want a copy: 👇 ringlander.com #fantasy #darkfantasy #novel by @rickyhoconcepts
