Digital plein air in the garden yesterday, before it started raining...

#digitalpainting #pleinair #wacom #art by @chrisboxart

Messing around with some black and white sketches, while testing out photobashing in #clipstudiopaint on the Wacom Moveink. It does surprisingly well, although needed to figure out some work arounds for things. Very much missing the 'blender if' layer function from photoshop 😅 by @chrisboxart

I need to stop starting paintings at 9:30 on a sunday night 😅 by @chrisboxart

Took the dive and upgraded to the Wacome Moveink 14. Its been such a joy, I loved not being tied to the desk with the ipad but it always felt I was drawing with a crayon. It lacked the precision and always had some vague smoothing to every stroke that always bugged me. Having the same feel between desktop and the mobile tablet has been magic.

Im just glad I no longer have any excuses and can finally become best drawerer of all time by @chrisboxart

Some @procreate studies over the weekend. I have Been working on getting looser and being bolder with colour. I love blender, but it has trained me to be very literal in my art and mark making, so endeavouring to tackle it. by @chrisboxart

Some messing around with things. I have way too many experiments and sketches locked in a folder so instead of doing that, im just going to fire it into the world. by @chrisboxart

I’ve been trying to work through some “art debt” lately. As the gap between my current workflow and painting widens, it has been frustrating to return to more fundamental methods, and feeling vulnerable stepping out of the long blender shaped shadow.

That said, this piece was feeling good. It began as a study from a photo I took on the ferry to Orkney and then just having fun with it and seeing where it would go. Had a lot of fun with this one, Hope you enjoy.

Did a study in 3D of a @simonweaner photo while I figure out some workflow stuff. Trying to use photography techniques in 3d to emulate some of the painterly effects with lost edges as well as trying to find ways of using bolder colours in realistic work by @chrisboxart

Oh boy, this one was tough. Sometimes an image comes into my head like a lightning bolt and only in the making of it tells me were it came from. This image ended up being a manafestation of my fears and anxiatys of where i am and my future, and i only realised that after finishing it. I have rounded a corner in acceptance and being genuine to myself and i am happy to have this image done. Sometimes you have to paint the blues to paint the yellows. by @chrisboxart

Still not sure what i think about posting things here due to AI and being swept into the algorithm and have abstained from posting the last few images but man gotta eat so here is my ode to The Last of Us

They didn't visit us out of curiosity or malice. They were just passing through, leaving behind their trash. We're just insects stumbling upon their leftovers

An image I have been working on for a few weeks, wanted and excuse to make environment art that involved my dog but ended up making more of a statement than I intended, Instagram is ruining the crop but the full resolution is up on my art station. hope you enjoy
