This place gives me the chills. Awestruck…. It is 1979 and there are 30,000 people scattered across the land, rice paddies as far as the eye can see. Then leader Deng Xiaoping designated this land as China’s first Special Economic Zone; less communism, more free market. Here comes “China’s Silicon Valley”. The influx of people and the growth of this city has not been seen anywhere and at any point in human history. To date 18 million call this place home. Everyone from out of town and primarily younger. Home to behemoths like Tencent, BYD, Huawei, DJI etc. This city truly exists far in the future. All electric vehicles, robots serving you, paying with facial scan or QR code, drone delivery, zero crime (any case is solved within hours due to camera systems). It is so green, clean, vibrant, modern and inspiring. Re-mark-able.
