It’s later…it’s Leda? Something about three sisters, repeating generational patterns, suffocating mothers, and manipulative men.
My first experience as an understudy!! Covering the fabulous and talented @sadiecorley as Anne in Plano. My first time swinging multiple roles (5) and essentially learning the entire script of @remelia.jerheart ‘s beautiful Daughters of Leda.
Impactful plays like these find you at just the right time. I really needed Anne— her insecurities, her strained relationships, and the everlasting bond of her sisters that kept her going. I also needed Michele’s girl talks, the real sisterly bonds created outside of just characters, leaky StageOne ceilings, and dancing to Beyoncé. I needed those heart-wrenching Phoebe and Artemis scenes that TWISTED THE KNIFE emotionally, and having a love interest that reflected real life obstacles. Door dashing ice cream cake to StageOne and sobbing to the pre-show playlist. Beautiful, brilliant, magical, thanks for reading.
