Sean Strickland landed in Edmonton for UFC Fight Night and immediately started posting about the city.

Strickland is in Alberta to corner a fighter at UFC Fight Night at Rogers Place on October 17, 2026, headlined by Mike Malott and Joaquin Buckley, and is not competing himself. After first defending Edmonton on X, he reversed course on Wednesday with a devastating roast, calling the city a trash can and posting photos and video from downtown, including a clip where he said a man lying behind a fence might be 💀 and joked he had to get out of there. The explosive posts, which also touched on Alberta separatism, sparked controversy and added to a relentless run of headlines for the dominant two-time UFC middleweight champion in mixed martial arts.

Before we ever met, we were praying for the same thing. We only worked it out months later.

On New Year’s morning I swam out into the ocean at dawn, told God I was ready and asked Him to bring me the right person. In another city, Andy walked into a church and had done the same.

So it was always going to be His house. Faith sits at the centre of both our families, and I wanted to make my promises under those pale stone domes above the Bay of Jounieh, in front of gilded icons that have heard a lot of prayers before ours.

My dress is Zuhair Murad. I wanted something that could hold its own under a Byzantine dome. Andy is in Dolce & Gabbana.

Our story is in Vogue Australia. Full gallery, link in bio.

No wishes. This year I thanked God for what stayed. The growth that shaped me, the lessons I’ve learned, and the privilege to celebrate another year🤍

I've watched an algorithm change wipe out more reach in a week than most people build in a year. Even if there’s nothing you can do about that, there are ways that you can keep attention regardless of the algorithm. Promotion is one of the main growth levers I cover in my upcoming business scaling workshop.
I’m hosting a Growth Accelerator Workshop in Austin where I’ll show you how I grow businesses by buying back your time, finding your biggest opportunities, and figuring out what you should stop doing yourself.
