We are devastated by the loss of our business after a fire destroyed the building we're located in. Squatober Day 19 for Monday Oct 19. A training session that you should be very familiar with. Please note that part one is 85% for singles, same two minute rest, and part two is 80% for doubles. The cardio session is different so pay attention. Since Friday everyone seems to be very intrigued by comparing their score to other people’s score. With this many people involved, you have to realize there are very different levels of lifting experience doing this. This would be like going into a golf tournament and you have beginners/novice/semipro/and pros all competing in the same tournament. There’s going to be a vast difference in scores. But…. The most important comparison now is that you are competing against YOUR Friday score. YOU 🆚 the previous YOU from three days ago. OK, here’s where I’m going to try to help some folks out to get a better score. There’s some definite improvement areas in the set up and re-rack of your set. Please remember that the time is also running while you are unracking, setting up your stance, performing your set, and re-racking the bar. Hopefully you have some video of yourself and you can see if there are some areas that you can improve efficiency. No I am not advocating to be fast and reckless. Some folks are taking several steps back away from the rack before they squat. This is unnecessary and takes more time. Learn to unrack, take your one step back with each foot, brace and go. On the set of two reps, try to minimize the amount of time between reps one and two. Work to quickly get back into that second rep. Work on having a easy counting system so you are not having to move away from the bar very far to track your sets. Have things set up right by the rack so you can just stay at the work spot and track efficiently. The @sorinex_squatober IG account posted a great example yesterday of Nick Coleman who is very efficient and uses a simple tracking system to achieve some great results. Watch the unrack, the set up, the reps, and the rerack. Super effective and efficient. Are you chasing Comfort or Discomfort?
