Things I’ve stopped apologising for at 30: leaving the party early. I used to feel like the boring one if I wasn’t drinking as much or staying as late, but now I know protecting my energy isn’t boring - it’s knowing what I value, and that’s a) my sleep, and b) the next morning, with my children. 🤍 Choosing the life I wanted, not the one that made sense to others. Everyone has an opinion on how you should live, how you should work, how many kids you should have. I spent a long time letting other’s opinions be the deciding vote, but I’ve learned I should trust my intuition about how I get to spend this one life, because my inner voice never lets my happiness down ☀️ Having boundaries. I used to say yes to everything & be endlessly available, worrying if I didn’t that people would leave, or because I thought being ‘easy’ made me lovable. Now I’m raising children who are watching how I let people treat me. If I want them to grow up knowing their worth, I have to show them what that looks like first. Every time I ignore my own limits, it teaches others that my needs come last. Boundaries are how we show people, and ourselves, that we matter too. Letting my kids see me get things wrong. I used to think a good mum had to look like she had it all together, all the time. Now I know EVERYONE has their ‘good side’ and their ‘shadow side’ - the best act of self love is embracing both in order to be the best ‘you’ you can be. I won’t hide my mistakes from my children as they grow, they will always hear me say sorry, and try again. They will know what matters in life is to try your best, and to become better. ❤️‍🩹 Being a mum with a business. I used to feel like I had to apologise to my kids for working, and apologise to work for being a mum. The reality is, I don’t have to pick one version of myself to be taken seriously in either. Having ambition doesn’t take anything away from motherhood - it just adds to the other parts of the woman I am aside from raising my children - and them watching me build something is, I like to think, part of what I’m giving them. I want them to experience work ethic and determination in order to earn the life they love. ✨ Being misunderst
