I watch them daily and rate them using a super scientific, highly objective, patented, proprietary, two-prong scoring system. I despise leaving the lake after 5 p.m. because what if I miss a good one?
One half of the rating is SKY.
1 — rain
2 — white sky
3 — gray sky
4 — barely colorful
5 — meh
6 — minimal clouds, just a gradient
7 — good clouds, good colors
8 — great clouds, great colors
9 — a phenomenal masterpiece
10 — hang it in the Louvre, requires colorful reflections on the water
The other half is VIBES, which encompasses weather, loon sightings, noisy boats, wine, great company, etc.

Haha! I'm the same. I have soooo many sunset pictures on my phone. And come fall, sunrises too, because we get really spectacular ones east of the Rocky Mountains ❤️

Love!! I’m a huge sunset at the lake girl too. We haven’t had a ton of vibrant beauties this summer, I think due to the smoke coming from Canada on and off (we are also in Maine!). But these are all framers!!
