Welcome to my office! I shared photos of my new shelves but we still had a few small things to finish in the office. But I'm excited to share my new favorite room in the house. Especially since I spend most of my day working from here!We took the formal living room and added a wall with French doors to transform the space and then added the built-in bookcase. I am very lucky to have a husband who can make my vision become a reality and we did all of the work, including my beautiful desktop. I am most excited about these shelves and love having my favorite books and authors on display! My coworkers have definitely asked about the books on calls!Do you have a home office space or bookshelves you love?#booksbooksbooks #homeoffice #bookshelves #sundayshelfie #favoritebooks #homedecor #diy #readingwithremy #booklovers#bookcase #bookshelf by @readingwithremy

Mini Reviews! I'm so behind on reviews and it's hard when so many books are published in June & July, which are two of my busier work months. Here are 6 romances I've read in the last month!🐾Book Club Boyfriend by Jenny Holiday A celebrity book club host and the grumpy author who rejected her invitation unexpectedly find themselves in an unlikely friendship when she invites him to finish his next book at her pool house. I like that they are older characters and this was a slow burn. Thanks to Forever! 🐾Return to Sender by Stephanie ParenteA road trip sparked by a returned letter leads two sisters & the letter writer on a journey of healing, second chances, and unexpected love. A little too insta-love for me and just awkward. Really struggled to get into this story and should have DNFd. Thanks to Dial Press! 🐾Just A Highland Fling by Naina KumarA woman, her dad and her one-night stand find themselves road-tripping across the Scottish Highlands to track down a runaway bride. Wanted to enjoy this more but didn't really like the FMC, I've liked the authors prior books and the Desi representation. Thanks to Dell! 🐾Not That Kind of Proposal by Victoria LavineA wedding planner and a divorce lawyer are forced to work together to plan her ex's wedding to save her job. This was fun, I loved Any Trope But You so I enjoy the author's writing but the proposal ideal just seemed weird to me. Thanks to Atria! 🐾Married with Benefits by Ellie PalmerA marriage of convenience over health insurance & property gives two strangers exactly what they need in a trope filled romantic comedy. I I love marriage of convenience, but this just didn't seem to make sense. Plus overly quirky characters and situations that just annoyed me. I was really looking forward to this one, but was disappointed. Thanks to Putnam! 🐾Big Stick Energy by Sarina BowenA fake dating arrangement between a hockey team captain and his admin turns into something neither of them expected as they navigate weddings, family drama, and undeniable chemistry. Loved this one! This is book two in the series and so much fun! Thanks to Forever! What's a romance you've loved recently? by @readingwithremy

I love audiobooks especially on long drives. Destination Funeral by Paige Harbison came out this week! Thanks to @macmillan.audio for my gifted audiobook copy! #Macaudio2026 I love that Paige narrates her own books - she is just as talented of a narrator as a writer! I absolutely loved The Other Side of Now and was looking forward to Destination Funeral. Definitely recommend listening to the audiobook for this one! Destination Funeral follows four friends who reunite for a funeral at the coastal Georgia island where they spent their teenage summers. As old memories and long-buried secrets resurface, they keep waking up and it's Saturday, they're forced to confront the past and their relationships. I'm not a big groundhog day fan, but I liked that all four of them were in the loop together, it helped keep it interesting as well as the flashbacks to their teenage summers. The narration of this book kept me entertained and laughing even with the themes of forgiveness and second chances. I actually listened to this while in Canada on some of our longer bus rides between Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and PEI. But had fun listening to audiobooks as I left my parents house this weekend! What is your favorite long drive snack? I'm a fountain diet coke and something salty to snack on along with Sour Patch Kids. #destinationfuneral #readingwithremy #travelswithremy#audiobookreview by @readingwithremy

Song for Another Home by @boraleereed came out this week! Thanks to @simonbooks and @37inkbooks for my gifted copy and @simon.audio for the audiobook. Song for Another Home is about family separation, personal dreams, and the power of resilience, set in Korea during the Korean War in the 1950s. Oksoon, along with her mother and younger brother, flees from Pyongyang to Seoul, while far away her cousin Junho finds refuge in an orphanage and uses his English skills to write letters to Americans in hopes of receiving donations. Told over the course of a year in alternating chapters, this is a coming-of-age story that follows them as they fight to survive while holding onto hope that they'll one day be reunited with their family.I really enjoyed the coming-of-age aspect and watching Oksoon and Junho persevere. I appreciated that the story focused on the everyday lives of one family rather than the larger battles of the war. The author's note at the beginning about her own family's connection to the story was especially touching and added another layer of meaning to the novel. It really got home there are still millions of Korean families separated from the war. This book was also personal as my grandfather's brother was killed in action in 1952 in Korea and I've been wanting to read and know more about the Korean War. I listened to a majority of this book. Narrated by Greta Jung and Raymond Lee I really liked listening to this. Both narrators were new to me, by they brought this story to life and kept me captivated in the story in my drive home from NJ this weekend. I recommend listening to this one. ExtraCurricular by Rachel Lynn Solomon came out this week! Thanks to @berkleyromance for my copy via NetGalley. I met a few booksta friends in NYC today and enjoyed sitting in Bryant Park for a few minutes before we met up! Ramona has been in the spotlight on a kids TV show turned pop star and at 26 she's decided she's done and ready to lead a quiet life so she enrolls in college. Nick is a psychology professor and determined to treat Ramona like any other student but she flusters him...This was a fun and quick read. I don't normally gravitate to professor/student relationship books but I liked that she was a little older even with a 10 year age gap. This felt a little too insta-love especially because Nick was up for tenure and him dating a student could put that at risk. I liked that Ramona was working through her relationship with her parents and wanting to live her own life. What are you reading this weekend? #readingwithremy #bryantpark #berkleyromance by @readingwithremy

I'm about to hop in the car to drive to Jersey again and can't wait to listen to audiobooks on my 5 hour drive. Thanks to @macmillan.audio for my gifted copies of Hot Girl Murder Club and Pretty Dead Things! #Macaudio2026I love listening to thrillers, especially on car rides! I enjoyed both of these books and they are both out now. Hot Girl Murder Club by Ashley Winstead This is bingy and I didn't want to stop listening. I loved the mix of the current investigation into Sage with the past but there were a lot of characters to keep track of. I appreciated the idea of female stars coming together to right wrongs against women (and an interesting ethical angle) but this book was kinda chaotic with SO MUCH going on. Brittany Pressley narrates and I'll listen to anything she does! Pretty Dead Things by Kelsey CoxFun Texas beauty pagent drama in a small town both in 2025 and 2000. Secrets emerge from the past and this ending!!! So fun to listen to with 5 narrators. Loved the full cast and Brittany Pressley is in this one too! Really recommend Kelsey Cox books - she's becoming a new must read in thrillers! The face of a very sad pup when she realizes you're leaving again. I'm heading to NJ to see my family and into NYC tomorrow to see some of my booksta favs! It's going to be a great weekend! Tell me something good! #readingwithremy #hotgirlmurderclub #prettydeadthings #audiobookreviews by @readingwithremy

The Romance Revival by Christina Lauren came out yesterday! A huge thanks up @gallerybooks for my gifted copy! #gallerybooks #partner I love Christina Lauren's fun banter and great characters but this one was a miss for me unfortunately. I know a lot of people are loving this one but to me this felt like too much of a departure from their usual rom-com with the science/speculative fiction angle. The premise of this one wasn't for me and the cover doesn't really match the story. It's not a cute and fun romance and that's what I want when I pick up one of their books. I appreciate they wanted to try something different but I wish the marketing of this book was more in-line with what this book is. I love a good marriage-in-crisis book so I was disappointed. What book has been a miss for you recently?#readingwithremy #theromancerevival by @readingwithremy

Happy Pub Day to The Half Life by @rachelbeanland! The biggest thanks to @simonbooks and @simon.audio for my gifted copies of this very anticipated book. #partner I love in a travel day I can easily switch between reading and listening! I've already done a bit of both and am loving the audiobook. The narrator is wonderful. So far I'm loving this historical fiction set on La Maddalena, off the coast of Sardinia in the 1970s about a navy wife’s reckoning with power, love, and the price of staying silent in the Atomic Age. I feel like this is a coming of age book about the complexities of being an American abroad, especially for a young woman. I loved the author's note the beginning about her childhood and her father being stationed here in the 80s. And I can't wait to see where this book goes. I love the short chapters and am excited to read on the plane and listen more ss I walk around on my layover. The audiobook is 16 hours, but it's been a quick read so far. I'm coming home from a dream trip to Nova Scotia and PEI, where would you like to be hoping on a plane to? #thehalflife #readingwithremy #travelswithremy #rachelbeanland by @readingwithremy

One of the reasons I love @carleyfortune books so much is the sense of place and how the settings serve as a character of her books. As I read This Summer Will Be Different in 2024, all I wanted to do was book a trip to PEI and explore this amazing island that I was reading about. I've had the best few days exploring PEI! I re-read This Summer Will Be Different last week and I was so excited for Cows ice cream, trying oysters, seeing the Anne of Green Gables Musical & going to the Green Gables Heritage Place and going to Cavendish Beach. While we solidified I'm not a fan of oysters, I have fallen in love with PEI just like I absolutely loved This Summer Will Be Different and I can't wait for my next trip here to see more of the island and rent a car!One of these days I'll get to Barry's Bay and Tofino. But I love finding amazing places to visit because of books! Have you been to PEI? Do you like oysters? #readingwithremy #carleyfortune #thissummerwillbedifferent#pei #princeedwardisland by @readingwithremy

Prince Edward Island is the home of Anne of Green Gables! Written by Lucy Maud Montgomery in 1908 this is a beloved book that so many have enjoyed. Today you can visit the Green Gables Heritage Place to see the farm that inspired the book. I'm still reading the book - but it was so fun to put myself in Anne’s shoes today as we explored. We went to the Anne of Green Gables Musical in Charlottetown which was wonderful! I drank a Raspberry Cordial while walking around the farm and loved feeling immersed in her world and Avonlea. It was cool to learn about Lucy Maud Montgomery's life too!Have you ever visited an author site or location connected to a book? #anneofgreengables #lucymaudmontgomery #greengables #readingwithremy #miniremy by @readingwithremy

The Final Score by Lana Ferguson came out this week. Thanks to @berkleyromance for my copy via NetGalley! The Final Score was a fun, easy hockey romance that kept me entertained, but wasn't memorable. This has the usual Lana Ferguson steam in it, but I never really felt Abby & Jack's romance. This is an interconnected story to The Game Changer, which you should read prior, that's where most of Abby’s backstory was mentioned and it helps explain some of her relationship dynamics between her and her family. There were a few parts where hockey terms were wrong and I couldn't tell if they were done in purpose because Abby doesn't like hockey so she was using the wrong terms or if they were just wrong.... I honestly think there are better hockey romances out there, but this was a quick & easy read. What are you up to this weekend? I'm in Canada for a work trip and we're exploring the Maritimes. We're in New Brunswick today and heading to PEI tomorrow! #readingwithremy #travelswithremy #berkleyromance #berkleyig by @readingwithremy

Sisterhood Above All by @katelizabee and @mayahshai comes out on Tuesday and this was a fun audiobook! Thanks to @macmillan.audio for my gifted copy! #Macaudio2026 #partnerIf you are in a sorority or enjoy #rushtok you'll enjoy this book. I listened to it and loved the multiple narration/POV from Ava, Madison and Shay. The multicast narration helped with the different characters and brought this story alive. It's just over 10 hours on audio. Welcome to recruitment at Southern State! The Gammas and Thetas are rival sororities. Ava's mom was a Gamma at Southern State and it's been her dream to be one too. But what will she do to ensure that she can be a sister too? It was fun to see this story unfold as Ava comes to terms with what she'd do be be a Gamma, Madison the Gamma President, trying to keep her house the top sorority and Shay, the Theta President trying to change the Greek system from the inside. This had the right amount of drama and it's a great New Adult adult book. While I don't follow RushTok this book was co-written with Amayah Shaienne who became popular with #bamarush and is a fellow ZTA sister! I'm very involved in my sorority as an alumna and years ago served as a recruitment advisor for a tiny school in NJ. I appreciated the correct terms and descriptions of recruitment, through my experience with ZTA has been a million times different than at Southern State! If your looking for a Sorority Thriller to read prior to sorority recruitment starting in August check this out, especially the audiobook! Where did you go to college? I went to Washington College which is a tiny liberal arts school on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. #readingwithremy sisterhoodaboveall by @readingwithremy
