Grateful that I love what I do, and that leaping into the default world isn't as hard as it could be, but it is still quite the culture shock. Burning Man is far from a utopia, but still a magical place where what can be dreamed can be done. Where collective community makes big differences together- like living in a society without trash littering the ground, and where people think about where they put their cigarette butts. To not think about money, financial transactions or having internet most of the time. Where the majority of people (instead of the minority) truly want the best for their neighbor and share with a genuinely open heart, not for their own personal gain. It is a place of art, music, wellness, learning, growth, indulging, celebration, mourning, healing, gathering and expression of all kinds to people's hearts content; in the truest burner form- judgement free. Consent is most popular, and having fun is paramount. Age and social status is irrelevant. The work still gets done, and those who dont help likely find another camp. You can also open camp or camp alone, and burn however you want. Speak to no one or more people than you ever have in your life. Clearly, each of us is different, and I had many challenges as well as joys during my time this year, but if even some of the principles of Burning Man, which are ethical and broad, are aspired to, society would be much more tolerable and enjoyable place. Imagine if everyone picked up the trash they saw instead of many mocking those that do? What a world it could be. Although physically exhausted, spiritually refreshed. So glad Violet and I were able to experience a place like this together. Even more poignant that it is temporary- a heartfelt reminder that everything is. Thank you Burning Man and everyone who created it. See you next year in the dust❣️✨️❤️🔥
