The house that Jack built. This grand wooden house was built by Jack Mitchell in 1919. It was first used by workers as a cookhouse while roads were being ploughed and graded. Money ran out for Jack and the house went mostly unfinished. It was then rented by the Gustafson’s from approximately 1942-1946. The house has never been lived in since.
I sat down with Boyd Gustafson who lived here as a boy. Now into his 80’s, he shared his memories growing up as a farm boy in Saskatchewan.
