A few photos from my night with Common Wave. A special night, listening to records together on such an incredible set up. It feels truly meditative getting to hear recordings through the quality of equipment they have, and I highly recommend attending one of their upcoming sessions. For this one, I felt lucky and humbled to be asked to curate the sounds of the night. I based my set on genres and particular tracks/bands that colored certain periods of my life, and some pivotal moments. From being exposed to indigenous South American music by street performers in Anchorage as a kid, to a WU LYF track that played as the sun was rising over central Kansas on my red eye drive when I left Minnesota for what was supposed to be a short term job in LA.
