We cannot talk about peace while ICE is acting unconstitutionally against immigrant families. Human rights are universal, not selective. As a pro bono translator, I’ve seen the injustice up close: a young Iranian man fleeing persecution was detained for months, denied medical care, legal help, or support, and even tried to take his own life. Dr. Raul Ruiz, what have you done for asylum seekers detained unconstitutionally? Didn’t you take an oath to protect the Constitution?
