Chris and I took art classes together back in high school. Getting to reconnect and collaborate in our own creative fields for PBS was such a full-circle moment.
I started this project a few years back because I was fascinated by the way she brought her love of mushrooms and wonder for the natural world into her work as a talented tattoo artist. All of this time later, I’m stoked to have finished it for PBS.
I loved collaborating with her on this and telling a small slice of her story.

This is so cool! Great job to everyone involved. @cakpatrick is not just a fantastic artist but an awesome human. I love getting to hang out with her and getting to wear her art permanently.
