I had the privilege of attending the Annual Conference of the Association of Facilities Management Practitioners, Nigeria (AFMPN) 2025, held at the University of Lagos on 24th – 25th August 2025.
It was an inspiring gathering of industry leaders, professionals, and researchers, all focused on advancing the practice of Facility Management. The sessions were highly engaging, thought provoking and laddened with rich insights on innovation, sustainability, and the future of our profession. It was a pleasure to once again interact with the legends in the profession such as Esv Pst Stephen Ola Jagun (FNIVS, FRICS, CFM, IFMA Fellow, RSV), who is the BOT chairman of AFMPN and a Board member of ESVARBON, the regulatory body of Estate Surveying & Valuation profession.

Grateful for the opportunity to network, exchange ideas, and reaffirm the role of Facility Management in driving sustainable development and excellence in service delivery. Kudos to the Dr Olumide Aina led AFMPN for planning an impactful and successful conference.
I conclude with the parting thoughts of the immediate past president & Fellow of AFMPN , Mr Paul O Erubami in one of the sessions that goes “enough of talking, take action”.
It’s time for FMs to take action by implementing sustainable innovations, digital & smart initiatives into our day to day operations in our organizations.
