It has been about ten years since I left Korea and decided to dedicate my life to Jiu Jitsu here in Australia. It has never been an easy path, but instead of choosing compromise, I decided to follow the picture I carried in my heart — and today, that path led me to receive the Global Talent Visa and become a permanent resident of Australia.

What makes me proudest is that I achieved this together with the people I met through Jiu Jitsu. From legal advice to every step of the process, my teammates and the Jiu Jitsu community stood by me and made this possible.

More than simply gaining the right to live in Australia, this moment feels like recognition that my Jiu Jitsu career and experience truly have value and contribute to Australian society.

This journey has shown me that it was never just about my own efforts — it was the support of those around me that made this result possible.

I am deeply grateful to Australia for welcoming me and my family, and I look forward to giving back and contributing even more to this beautiful country.

한국을 떠나 호주에서 주짓수를 업으로 삼은 지 어느덧 10년이 되어갑니다. 그때나 지금이나 결코 쉽지 않은 길이었지만, 타협하기보다는 제 마음속에 그려온 길을 끝까지 따라가고자 노력 했습니다.

그리고 오늘, 글로벌 탤런트 비자가 승인되어 호주 영주권을 얻었습니다.

무엇보다 이 모든 과정을 주짓수를 통해 만난 동료들과 함께, 그리고 주짓수를 통해 이루어냈다는 점이 가장 뜻깊습니다. 법률 자문부터 신청 과정의 모든 단계에서 주짓수로 맺은 인연들의 도움이 있었고, 그로 인해 만들수 있는 성과라고 생각합니다.

이번 영주권은 단순한 거주 권리를 넘어, 제가 쌓아온 주짓수 경력과 경험이 호주 사회에 기여할 수 있는 가치로 인정받았다는 점에서 큰 의미가 있습니다.

이 여정은 혼자만의 힘으로 이룬 것이 아니라, 주변의 동료들, 친구들, 그리고 가족이 함께 만들어낸 결과입니다. 감사의 마음 잊지 않겠습니다.
