I was invited to the consecration of a Tibetan Stupa. It was beautiful to learn how much intentionality goes into the building it. A Tibetan stupa is like a condensed universe of sacredness. Every layer and every object inside has meaning. Placed inside are mantras, relics, texts and symbolic items, and even items to transmute such as weapons. The consecration essentially “awakens” it, so it becomes a living field of blessings and protection for all who encounter it.
I see a vast amount of similarities between Tibetan and Hindu rituals, gods/goddesses, ethical teachings, mantras, and visualizations. Im excited to dive deeper into their practices.
