The lace makers: the heather story
There is something magical about watching them at work. It is so fascinating to observe their precise repetitive movements that inch by inch create something extraordinary: the lace. Lace making has become an art form nowadays, rare and unique, almost extinct.
Fortunately, lace making is still an everyday activity for spiders. They spin and spin,at dawn and dusk, making sure their web is ready by the morning. Then there is the repairing and maintenance:a good web is crucial for the survival of these lace makers.
And then there is the waiting.....and then the time to kill...
Next time I will definitely remember to take a plant spray with me: the lace adorned with dew pearls is so much more precious....
