Clemenswerth Castle
Although it represents everything I hate ,this 18th century hunting complex (Jagdschloss) in Sögel , is an unforgettable visual sensation from above, especially in the autumn . The unique, built in baroque style,eight-sided star design features a central hunting lodge surrounded by eight pavilions, connected by lime tree alleys.
No drone flights,I got repremanded by some custodian bully😲😳.

The autumn windmill
The world is so wonderful right now, with the golden patina of autumn colours, all glowing and warm, like wood burning in a cosy fireplace.
From above this windmill ,set against the autumn scenery, looks like a painting of old masters: the Dutch school. The sun heading for the horizon gives it an extra lick of ochre paint, an extra touch of Midas's gold...

The lace makers: the heather story
There is something magical about watching them at work. It is so fascinating to observe their precise repetitive movements that inch by inch create something extraordinary: the lace. Lace making has become an art form nowadays, rare and unique, almost extinct.
Fortunately, lace making is still an everyday activity for spiders. They spin and spin,at dawn and dusk, making sure their web is ready by the morning. Then there is the repairing and maintenance:a good web is crucial for the survival of these lace makers.
And then there is the waiting.....and then the time to kill...
Next time I will definitely remember to take a plant spray with me: the lace adorned with dew pearls is so much more precious....

The purple wonder
The fifth season is purple. The heather fields blossom send a beautiful delicate cent into the air, luring the myriad of buzzing insects.
The colours of the heather change, like a kaleidoscope of colours, from deep purple ,through dark blue in the late evening,to a bright red at broad daylight.
The sheep and the cows graze on the grass in between; be careful though, you enter their territory at your own peril ! On one of my last heather walks a huge bull got very interested in my drone, after I landed it...having played with it for like a quarter of an hour,he walked away....
