24 year old Sauternes 😍 I LOVE dessert wine. I wish I took a picture of this wine in the glass. It was a beautiful golden color and even had some tartrate crystals at the bottom of the bottle which you’ll see on the second slide. This specific style of wine is made from healthy grapes that undergo a fungus called Botrytis Cinerea. The fungus punctures the grape skins causing the water to evaporate and concentrates the acids, flavors, and sugars. Overall the process to create this wine is expensive and it is not produced every year because the conditions need to be perfect in order for the rot to form. #sauternes #noblerot #botrytisconerea #dessertwine
